Baby Monitor During Thunderstorms

I have the best baby monitor, but there is one small problem. I noticed that the sounds coming from my unit are actually delayed a little. Whenever there is a bad thunderstorm, the baby monitor echoes the thunder and makes the storm seem like it is worse. During the loud thunderclaps, I cannot hear anything else that is going on in my babys bedroom. I do not have any trouble dealing with this problem, but the baby sitter does not like it at all. She is fearful that something could happen to our baby while the thunder is loud and she would be delayed getting to the babys bedroom. One evening last week, she said that she could not watch our baby because of the thunder storm that was approaching our area. We could not find another baby sitter on such short notice, so we ended up canceling our plans. It is sad, but my husband told me that he wants me to look for someone else to watch our baby.

Restlessness is Not a Good Thing

Being restless is just a part of my nature. Even my daughter fidgets a lot when she is seated in her Britax Marathon car seat. Maybe we have a touch of ADHD, who really knows?

I like to start and stop projects all the time. When I am deeply focused on a project, I like to take a break to check the news. I check about five different news sites to make sure that nothing serious has happened since I last checked them about half of an hour ago!

Perhaps this is because I did not know about 9/11 until over an hour after the event happened that I feel the need to be on top of the news. On the other hand, this is not a good trait for myself and my baby.

It really would be better if I could stay focused on what I was doing without distracting myself. Oh, well.
